The First QUTES Seminar, Dr. Rok Žitko

Apr 18, 2017 | For curious, Lecture

The first QUTES seminar took place on April 18, 2017, introducing fundamental concepts of quantum computing to a broader audience. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Rok Žitko, a researcher at the Jožef Stefan Institute and an assistant professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, University of Ljubljana.

In his talk, Dr. Žitko presented various approaches to quantum computing, including the quantum circuit model, adiabatic algorithms, and the topological quantum field model. He explained how these paradigms differ and their practical applications. A special focus was given to current efforts in quantum computer implementation, with an introduction to IBM’s publicly accessible five-qubit quantum device.
