Celebrating World Quantum day 2024 Programme
April 10, 2024: IJS Colloquium – Univ. Prof. Dr. Francesca Ferlaino
April 15, 2024: Workshop for High School Students
April 15 – April 17, 2024: Lecture Series by Olivier Ezratty
On April 14, 2024, we celebrated World Quantum Day, an event dedicated to promoting a deeper understanding of quantum science and its applications. In Slovenia, the Slovenian Quantum Technology Community (QUTES) and the Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI) organized a diverse program featuring numerous experts and researchers.
The events began on April 10 with a colloquium at IJS, where university professor Dr. Francesca Ferlaino presented research on many-body quantum physics with dipolar quantum gases. On April 15, a workshop for high school students introduced the basics of quantum physics, included visits to quantum laboratories, and provided hands-on experience in assembling quantum optical devices. From April 15 to 17, Olivier Ezratty delivered a series of three lectures discussing the latest advancements and challenges in quantum computing, linking quantum technologies to other scientific fields, and exploring the impact of the second quantum revolution on everyday life.
