The European Commission and Member States have been called upon to launch a €1 billion flagship-scale initiative in quantum technologies within the Horizon 2020 research and innovation framework program, scheduled to begin in 2018.
This initiative is outlined in the Quantum Manifesto, officially presented on May 17-18, 2016, at the Quantum Europe conference in Amsterdam.
The manifesto, prepared by leading European scientists and experts, emphasizes the importance of quantum technologies for Europe’s future. Its goal is to secure Europe’s leadership in the second quantum revolution, promising breakthroughs in science, industry, and society.
