Two researchers have secured prestigious European Research Council (ERC) grants for projects in the field of quantum technologies.
Dr. Marko Žnidarič has been awarded an ERC Advanced Grant for the project NUMBS – Effective Non-Unitarity in Many-Body Systems. The project addresses one of the key questions in modern quantum physics: how to understand the behaviour of highly complex systems composed of a large number of interacting particles. The NUMBS project will be hosted by the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, University of Ljubljana.

Dr. Dragan Mihailović has received an ERC Proof of Concept Grant for the project FEMTOGAPENGINE – Femtosecond Laser Superconducting Circuit Gap Engineering. The project aims to develop active control of superconducting circuits in quantum processors using femtosecond laser technology. It will be carried out at the Jožef Stefan Institute and the Centre of Excellence for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology – Nanocenter, in collaboration with the Slovenian company miDALIX d.o.o.
